The weekend isn’t over yet…but what a weekend it will be…featuring music from all of the western Canadian provinces. And from BC comes Buckman Coe…one of the more interesting musical artists we’ve heard in a while. And we’re pairing him up with Regina’s own Brent Nielsen, who many of you might recognize as the voice of CBC’s weather updates, but who is in reality an outstanding roots-blues recording artist. This show is on Sunday, March 25, so we will open the doors at 7:30 pm, the music will start at 8 pm, and it will only cost you $10 to get in. Tickets are available at the door.
Brent Tyler & Calvin Locke are two singer/songwriters from Calgary teaming up for a March long tour across western Canada, performing soulful and heartfelt songs with an aggressive and engaging acoustic style influenced by the likes of Martin Sexton, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jeff Buckley, and Dave Matthews. Two dudes. Two guitars. 20+ shows in the month of March. Performing at the Creative City Centre on Friday, March 23rd. Doors open at 8 pm, tickets are $10. [Read more...]

Sometimes one of those new talents come across your desk, and you know that there’s something special going on here. This is the case with Samantha Savage Smith. When her agent approached us about doing a show here, we listened to her tunes (the way we listen to everyone before we book ‘em), and immediately emailed back with a YES. So on Saturday, March 17th, come check out Samantha Savage Smith. The opening act is Robyn Barbour, who comes highly recommended by Nick Faye. And if Nick Faye says she’s good, she’s probably really good. Come check out these two talented women, Saturday, March 17th. Tickets are $10 at the door, doors open at 8 pm and the music will start at 8:30 pm. It’s practically spring…no more excuses to stay at home! [Read more...]
This is going to be an AWESOME night of music, and you should plan to be here! Two of these groups are from Vancouver, they played here in June shortly after we opened, and we are REALLY excited to have them return to our stage. Redbird features the vocal talents of Savannah Wellman, while Portage & Main runs a little closer to the CSNY school of music. And to make the night even better, they’ve invited their friend and ours Julia McDougall (and her piano) to join the bill. The show is on a Monday night, but we think it could be a great way to make your weekend last a little bit longer. Doors open at 7:30, the music will start at 8 pm, and it will continue through the evening. Tickets are only $10 at the door!
Zachary Lucky and Carly Maicher played at our venue in November 2011, and their show was truly captivating. So when Zach asked if he could come back here for a CD Release Party, we were more than happy to say yes! Not just because we like any excuse to have a party, but more specifically because we’re always excited when one of our musical community has a new product to celebrate! So come celebrate with us…on Thursday, March 8th. Doors open at 7:30 pm, and the music will start shortly after 8 pm. Zachary is still on tour with the lovely and talented Carly Maicher…last time they played here, they were stranded in a blizzard in a Yorkton parking lot for five hours…hopefully this time their journey won’t be so frosty! Tickets are $10 at the door. [Read more...]
This event is quickly developing a reputation for being an entertaining, intimate evening of music, celebrating the wealth of talent of our Canadian songwriters! We take songwriters from various backgrounds, put them on stage in a “songwriter in the round” format, and encourage them to share with the audience their songs, and the stories behind the songs. It’s not a workshop, you don’t have to be a songwriter to enjoy this, it’s a really special night of music and story-telling. Each month, we feature three or four songwriters on stage, and this month, we’ve got Jeffery Straker, Megan Nash and Jenny MacDonald. Jeffrey is well known across Canada, Megan is the voice of the Rider song, and Jenny is coming all the way from Nova Scotia! Join us as we welcome these three talented songwriters and performers to our stage…they’ll be on from 8 pm to 9:30, with our open mic session to follow. And it’s only $5 to get in! Doors open at 7:30 pm. [Read more...]
Winnipeg’s Justin Lacroix is a passionate singer-songwriter. Whether it’s something funky, folky, or another of the great variety of styles he seems to naturally assimilate, there’s an authentic, expressive voice and a poignant, raw guitar style that ring true. Warm tones, heartfelt lyrics, and a contagious lightheartedness that offsets his more sombre side are characteristic of Lacroix and in live performance, he wears his heart on his sleeve and generously offers his great talent. We’re looking forward to seeing his show on Saturday, February 25! Doors open at 8 pm, and tickets are only $5! [Read more...]

Songwriter Sunday keeps getting better and better, as more people start to realize this is a pretty special way to see some of their favorite artists on stage. This month, we are proud to present Jason Plumb, lead vocalist and songwriter from Regina legends The Waltons, along with Saskatoon’s Mark Ceasar and Regina’s Cody Gamracy, who is putting the finishing touches on his new album.
Join us on Sunday, February 12. As always, the doors open at 7:30 pm, and the music starts at 8 pm. The songwriter in the round performance goes until 9:30 pm, and then the stage is open for any songwriters in the audience who want to try out some new material. The open mic session typically lasts until 10 pm or so. All of this for a $5 ticket. It’s pretty sweet, especially for a Sunday night.
