Empty Room Showcase Promo PhotoFriday, November 13, 2015

Doors open at 7:30 pm, music starts at 8 pm sharp!

We are sold out – thank you Regina!

The Creative City Centre is very excited to present the Empty Room Showcase as the official launch of our second season of An Empty Room, a video series of recordings produced in our empty Hague Gallery in partnership with SaskMusic and CBC Radio One Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan singer-songwriters Megan Nash, Danny Olliver, Kirby Criddle, Keiffer McLean and Colter Wall will perform on Friday November 13 in the Hague Gallery at the Creative City Centre. Doors open at 7:30 pm, music starts at 8:00 pm.

The Empty Room video series saw 12 Saskatchewan artists record two audio and video tracks in our Hague Gallery, which were then broadcast on CBC Radio One as part of their Monday Morning Edition program. Each week, for 24 weeks, CBC would feature one of those songs every Monday morning. The videos are posted on YouTube, and provide Saskatchewan artists with a high quality video for use in promoting their own careers. While this program initially started as a Creative City Centre project under the direction of volunteer sound engineer and awesome human Brent Nielsen, we are delighted to welcome SaskMusic and CBC as supporting partners on this initiative. Week #22: An Empty Room with Jen Lane – “Waiting For You”

This Thanksgiving we are thankful to have Jen Lane’s performance of “Waiting For You” as the newest edition to our Empty Room series!  Looking back over the past eight years, Saskatoon-based recording artist Jen Lane has come to realize that the trials and tribulations she endured during that time has led to the creation of what is thus far her most personal, most compelling and most powerfully evocative album.  “Waiting For You” is a new song that finds Jen Lane in the exact place that she has always been meant to be; at the very heart of where country, roots and folk music harmoniously intertwine.

Catch Jen Lane “live” in Regina at O’Hanlon’s on Tuesday October 20th, and go to for a list of all upcoming tour dates!

There are 21 other Empty Room tracks waiting for you on our YouTube channel right now!  With two new tracks still to come be sure to tune in to CBC Radio next Monday morning at 8:15am to hear the debut of the next Empty Room track on the Morning Edition with Sheila Coles!
